My name is Panayiotis Charalambous. I was born in the beautiful city of Nicosia in Cyprus a few months after the original Star Wars was released in the cinemas (Click here).

I am currently a Computational Scientist at the Cyprus Institute in the CaSToRC research center where I work on servicing the Digital Cultural Heritage communities of the area. Previous to that I was Post Doctoral Fellow in the Mimetic team of Inria Rennes-Bretagne Atlantique in France where I worked on simulation and animation methods for Virtual Crowds. I received my PhD from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Cyprus in 2013 under the supervision of Yiorgos Chrysanthou. During my doctoral studies I dealt with "Data-Driven Techniques for Virtual Crowds" ; i.e., algorithms to both generate and analyze virtual crowds. Prior to that I studied Computer Science and Telecommunications at the University of Athens, Greece where I also got a Masters Degree in Computing Systems and Architectures.
